I’m not certain of why i would actually publish this, but I guess I should give a piece of my ass to those who are in the midst of Harry Potter supremacy.
Now, according to recent uproars, the problem here is that hypermarkets are selling Deathly Hallows at lower prices. Ok, fair enough. And then, MPH and other bookstores are withdrawing door sales. OK, there should be a reason. Then there’s the uproar of consumers not satisfied with MPH and the other bookstores not selling. Ok, fair enough and expected. And lastly is that a disabled person got ticked off with the behaviors of the people at Borders, The Curve when everyone stood for their own ground. Heh.
I’m not a fan of Harry Potter. I would really like to clear that out. But what I am pissed is that there are some parts of these occurrences that are just making me think alot. Why lower prices? its normal hypermarket strategy. You come buying Harry Potter at a cheap price, and then decide to woo the customers into buying other stuffs that are abit more pricey than another hypermarket. Good call.
The reason for MPH, I wouldn’t know, but I could only speculate. The integrity of the book is tarnished with the hypermarket’s price. Selling at 70 bucks does also make me feel that its a nuisance, truth be told. I believe a severe amount of losses is being generated so that customers can just buy the book at the hypermarket. Call it marketing or whatever, but I just feel so. Another speculation, and a very big one, is that maybe only that the bookstores dah kena ehem2 skit… So, I wouldn’t be surprised lah of course.
The part where the customers are not satisfied with MPH’s decision is something expected. Fans will be pissed, I am sure. And if they want to complaint, go ahead. But i believe that if a store doesn’t want to sell, its up to them. If you wanna complaint, help me complaint on games not being able to be sold in this country. Bah. You may not get it at MPH, but there’s always other places around. Is it really that hard?
And the ugly side of Malaysians. According to the article, there were no lines, and when the store opened, throngs of people commando’ed in the books stores. Parents are shoving their children (What do you think they are, HOT WATER???) into the store so that one disabled man couldn’t get his book. Luckily, and alhamdulillah, a bystander and a staff from Borders helped him in where he got his book at 7.45 am. If you might think that just cuz he’s on a wheelchair, he doesn’t deserve to get special attention for the book, think of the fact that all of you did not even bother to make a que line. If you all did, i believed he would have waited in line. The ugly side of Malaysians? there it is. So, Najib, think that the statistics are biased summore?
This is blog is only an opinion. I don’t have facts except from what the Star reports. And I only give out opinions for the world to see. I’m sad that the book is actually tarnished if you ask me. The part where negotiations could have come into place should have made things a lot more easier for us in this life. Ah well, all this is practically a bugger anyway.
Much Love, Azlil.Ash.
